He lives with his family in a former windmill beneath the Castello di Giglio and tends some of the last remaining vines on an island that was once entirely covered in Ansonaco. The grape is Giglio's own name for Ansonica — thick-skinned, concentrated, shaped by relentless sun and salt air.
